relaxation and comfort. Ideal for weddings and honeymoons. The
Elizabethan design four poster bed incorporates the carved coat
of arms of Sir Thomas Maurward's family.
The Laura Pitt Room (double bedroom) With
its ancient Breton bed, this room is furnished in warm golden
colours and dominated by the Jacobean fireplace. Enjoy the
south-facing views over Thomas Hardy's Vale of the Great Dairies
through the mullioned windows.
The Angel Grey Room (twin bedroom) Thomas
Hardy reputedly used Angel Grey's Christian name for the
character of Angel Clare in his novel Tess of the D'urbevilles.
This bedroom is timber framed and incorporates a doorway to
nowhere! From its mullioned window, a beautiful view of the
parkland unfolds with the sound of the waterfall in the
background.
