River Cottage is located on the banks of the River Piddle, in the hamlet of Athelhampton, just 5 miles from Dorchester

Set in the grounds of Athelhampton House, our thatched riverside cottage is an ideal base for exploring 'Hardy's Wessex' with its Heritage coastline, stunning countryside and nearby beach resorts of Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth.

Newly restored and refurbished, the two double and one twin/double bedrooms all have en-suite bathroom facilities, with both shower and bath, satellite TV and complimentary toiletries

The cottage has a Sitting Room, with soft furnishings and comfortable furniture and a fully equipped Modern fitted Kitchen offering Fridge / Freezer, Washer / Dryer, Microwave, Dishwasher and Double Oven.

French doors lead from the sitting room to a decked area and lawn, with seating and BBQ. Adjacent is our mini Pitch and Putt golf course. You may enjoy viewing Athelhampton House and its Gardens when it is open to the public with our compliments.

River Cottage sleeps 6 persons (a cot is available also) and is available weekly with a Friday arrival / departure. Towels, bed-linen and Electricity / LPG are included within the costs, and a welcome hamper is provided. Water is drawn from our well and treated on site.
