Our beautiful 16th Century Dovecote, pictured here in the Country Life article dated 1891, would have housed an important source of protein, eggs and meat, for the Manorial household. Many are still standing, taking various forms. This classic cylindrical shape has tiny square spaces lining the interior wall and would have accommodated 1500 doves crestor medicine. Today we have a healthy population, purely for decoration.
