Couple tie the knot in wedding organised by strangers

Dorset couple Cara Day, 29, and David Giles, 32, have tied the knot in a wedding with a difference – every element was chosen and organised by complete strangers.

The wedding was the result of a competition ran by PearlDrops, where Cara and David won a wedding worth £25,000, with the catch being that the wedding, from the venue to the wedding cake, was voted for by the public. The run-up to the wedding was also shared on the PearlDrops social media pages, with the wedding even having its own hashtag – #PearlDropsSmile.

Fortunately, the wedding was an incredible success and the couple were delighted at the choices the voting public had made. The wedding took place in Wiltshire in October, with David wearing a sharp blue suit and Cara wearing a beautiful strapless white lace dress. Their three daughters, Maya, 9, Giana, 3, and Arabella, 17 months, who also helped the pair win the prize by featuring in their competition video, were the bridesmaids and watched their parents unite for the rest of their lives.

During the weeks leading up to the wedding, David and Cara said that they were extremely nervous yet excited to see how their wedding would end up, but added that they were happy to marry whatever the turnout, as they were only able to marry thanks to the prize offered by the competition.

While this couple were extremely brave for letting strangers organise their wedding, you may not be so courageous! Athelhampton House is one of the finest wedding venues Dorchester has to offer, with hire including your very own wedding planner to help plan every element of your wedding to tailor-made perfection.
